Pushgate is a revolutionary switch based on the magnetic properties of thin magnets, developed by Duraswitch Technologies. The operating principle behind the Pushgate switch is as simple as it is effective. A magnetic layer is placed within the composition of the membrane keypad and includes an opening to accommodate a metal armature. When the key is in the open position (not activated), the armature is retained by the magnet away from the electric circuit. When the key is activated, the armature is pushed away from the magnet to create a contact with the keypad circuit. The circuit is then closed. When the key is released, the armature is no longer under pressure and is attracted again by the magnet. The circuit returns to the open condition.
